We read the genealogy of the first 10 generations in Genesis 5. The cool part is that their names spell out the Gospel.
Take the meaning of each name and put them together...
Adam = man
Seth = appointed
Enos = mortal
Cainan = sorrow
Mahalaleel = the blessed God
Jared = shall descend
Enoch = teaching/preaching
Methuselah = his death shall bring
Lamech = despairing
Noah = comfort
Man appointed mortal sorrow.
The blessed God shall descend preaching/teaching.
His death shall bring despairing comfort.
