So I'm still sick. I had a couple of weeks where I felt better--no fever & no symptoms. Man, was that nice! That all changed about a week ago. Symptoms returned. Here we go again...
I went to the doctor yesterday and tested positive for Mono. I know, big surprise! The doctor gave me his sympathies and that's about it. I knew that would happen. The real reason I went was for peace of mind & because of my eye. A few days ago, I got "pink eye" in my good eye. The doctor prescribed me eye drops that I already have at home (the ones I use before/after eye injections). We didnt realize it until after Travis brought the drops to me. The worst part--my retina specialist gives me the drops for free. We had to pay $110 for this little bottle.
All in all, it was about $300 for a doctor to tell me that I do indeed have mono and good luck with that & give me antibiotic eye drops that I already have at home that wont do anything if this is viral anyway. That's a great way to spend money we dont have, isn't it? I know, but it helps me feel better just knowing what the cause of all this is. I needed to know for sure that it was Mono. Now I know. I hate that it cost so much to find that out, but oh well. And I should have been using the drops I had at home to begin with. Why didn't I? ...blame it on the fever 'cause I have no idea.
Oh, and the bathroom is still a mess! Travis got so far as to rip out the floor & then he got sick, too. Good Grief! The house will be back to 'normal' eventually, I'm sure. But, I'm not going to worry about it in the mean time. Instead, we are focusing on making some lifestyle changes...
